Overview

Visit three most beautiful waterfalls near to Ubud area. You will be taken to the first waterfall called Tibumana Waterfall. In this waterfall is good for swimming as it has very blue water and fresh come from the mountain. It is located very deep inside the lush green jungle along the beautiful slopes. Walk along the path passing some stairs down and pass a wooden bridge to see a beautiful waterfall.

Next, you will drive around 45 minutes to get Tukad Cepung Waterfall. This waterfall is the most hidden waterfall in Bali. You cannot see it from any distance, except you go 10 meters from the waterfall because it is located inside the cave. To get there you need to walk along the jungle and some stairs to get the river. You will walk along the river with the high rock in between and you will see the most beautiful waterfall at the end.

The last waterfall is popular Tegenungan waterfall. You will expect more people here as it is located close to ubud center but it is still a good place to chill out and swim. But before that you will enjoy traditional local lunch with traditional ingredients. It is very tasty and unique.

Best of Bali Waterfalls: Tibumana, Tukad Cepung and Tegenungan

My driver/guide was Arik to Tibumana, Tukad Cepung and Tegenungan waterfalls. He was excellent and highly recommend if anyone wants to do this excursion. He was very informative and arrived earlier than agreed on start time at my hotel in Kuta. He was giving me side information about Bali throughout the day from how rice is grown. culture and history. He was very help helping taking pictures to bring back some Bali memories with me. I appreciate since I am traveling solo on this part of my trip. After the last waterfall he arranged an authentic Bali lunch which was very good.
We first went to Tegenungan waterfall and in my opinion was the best of the 3 waterfalls. It was the largest, majestic and powerful waterfall I ever experienced. We arrive in good time there was not much of a crowd. Next we went to Tukad Cepung which was a magical waterfall there are enough words to disco be this waterfall. The water was crystal clear. There was a little crowd when we arrive but it was not a big wait to get the typical Bali waterfall pictures. The last waterfall was Tibumana it was my least favorite of the 3 waterfall but it still has it great beauty and it was the smallest of the 3. The water was cloudy and muddy but it could be due to the larger crowd by time we got there.Be prepared to walk a lot to get to these waterfalls. All 3 locations you had to walk down about 150 steps then repeat going back up. The only waterfall you really can swim enjoy the water was the first one Tegenungan the other 2 has signs it is not safe to swim. Arik also mentioned it to me before arrive to the waterfalls.
