Overview

Visit three most beautiful waterfalls near to Ubud area. You will be taken to the first waterfall called Tibumana Waterfall. In this waterfall is good for swimming as it has very blue water and fresh come from the mountain. It is located very deep inside the lush green jungle along the beautiful slopes. Walk along the path passing some stairs down and pass a wooden bridge to see a beautiful waterfall.

Next, you will drive around 45 minutes to get Tukad Cepung Waterfall. This waterfall is the most hidden waterfall in Bali. You cannot see it from any distance, except you go 10 meters from the waterfall because it is located inside the cave. To get there you need to walk along the jungle and some stairs to get the river. You will walk along the river with the high rock in between and you will see the most beautiful waterfall at the end.

The last waterfall is popular Tegenungan waterfall. You will expect more people here as it is located close to ubud center but it is still a good place to chill out and swim. But before that you will enjoy traditional local lunch with traditional ingredients. It is very tasty and unique.

Beautiful Waterfalls

There is apparently no shortage of waterfalls in Bali but this tour takes you to some of the best. It's been planned out to give you the best chance of having no/minimal crowds for the first stop or two which was certainly the case for us. Tegenungan was probably the most beautiful of them all although it was also the most touristy. Tukad Cepung was our favourite as being within a cave was quite unique and we also had the place to ourselves. Our driver/guide Sakha was friendly and helped us to take some good photos at the first two stops. We were given a choice of when/where we wanted to stop for lunch and both enjoyed the meal.

Waterfall Tour with Dudy

I really enjoyed my waterfall tour with my guide Dudy. Although we had three waterfalls to visit on the schedule, Tukad Cepung was temporarily closed on the day of the tour so Dudy suggested we add in Kanto Lampo and Taman Sari. Dudy picked me up directly from my hotel in Canggu at 06:45 and within an hour we had arrived at our first stop, Tegenungan. At that time in the morning, there were no crowds so it allowed the perfect opportunity to soak up the spectacular views. Next we headed to Kanto Lampo - the instagramers hotspot with queues at the base of the waterfall forming of those wanting the ultimate ‘posing on the rocks’ waterfall shot. As I was traveling solo, I could go at my own pace and before long we were back on the road for the short drive to Taman Sari - a idilic natural pool nestled within beautiful lush forest surroundings. This was my personal highlight. After a bit of swimming and photo taking when moved on to Tibumana - another Instagram favourite so expect it to be on the busier side. Lunch was an option but I chose to head back to Canggu to beat the traffic.Dudy was a top guide and photo taker, willing to adapt the trip to suit my preferences. Dudy spoke good English and was able to provide many recommendations which I will consider for future trips.A great day out and highly recommended! Be prepared for the usual Bali traffic if you’re staying outside of Ubud. All locations require a short and often steep walk from the car park to the waterfall, so be prepared to climb a few steps. Thanks Dudy!
