Overview

Join this early morning trip to the east side of Bali. Lempuyang Temple is one of six most important temples in Bali, has been believed to be a very sacred temple by Balinese people. It is located on the slope of Mount Lempuyang 600 metres (2,000 ft) high above sea level. According to Balinese beliefs, they are the pivotal points of the island and are meant to provide spiritual balance to Bali. Walk through the temple along the stairs then you can feel the real spiritual vibrancy of the temple. From here you can see Mount Agung the highest volcano in Bali very close. Make an amazing picture on the gate of heaven with the background of Mt. Agung.

Next, you will stop at a beautiful water palace called Tirta Gangga where you will see a maze of pools and fountains surrounded by a beautiful statues and gardens. The centerpiece of the palace is an eleven tiered fountain which is very beautiful with so many Koi fish around the ponds.
On the way to the waterfall, you will have a break to enjoy a local lunch with an amazing rice field view. Generate more energy with the local food with the panorama pampering your eyes.

Visit the hidden Tukad Cepung waterfall. Walk closely to the waterfall pouring under the small cave with the sun rays shining straight through the top of the fall, creating natural beams across the canyon. The last stop is the magical Tegalalang rice terrace. Experience the popular jungle swing for your Instagram feeds and unforgettable moment.

Kris, our amazing tour driver

We went on the Gate of Heaven tour with our lovely driver Kris who was not only hospitable, but also very knowledgeable. The day started with heavens gate temple (recommend leave as early as possible as it’s a 2.5 hour drive if going from Seminyak, and the queue for the temple to get a photo can be quite long).Once we got our amazing photos we made our way to the rice field terrace, followed by a set lunch and then off to the Tirta Gangga Water Palace which were all conveniently located close together. After spending some time feeding some oddly large gold fish, we continued our journey to the jungle swing which was paired with a Kopi Luwak/coffee and tea tasting.Total of 12 different kinds of complimentary teas and coffees were served, as well as the choice of ordering a medium cup of Kopi Luwak for 50k IDR.As we finished our pick-me-up (was getting tired by this point) we decided to move onto our final destination, the Tukad Cepung Waterfall. As the rain started hammering down we unfortunately decided not to go to the waterfall, however Kris was more than happy swap this out and take us to the Pasar Senggol Batubalan night market since my partner and I had been talking about it and it was on the way home anyway. All in all Kris was fantastic at being our tour driver, driving us through the streets of Bali without using a GPS once, adjusting the schedule depending on weather and time, taking amazing photos for my partner and I (even out together a well made instagram video for us), and over all really easy to talk to and get along with.If you’re booking a tour with Hire Bali Driver, make sure you go with Kris.
