Hendra explained the subak irrigation system, an ancient technique Balinese farmers have been using for centuries to grow rice. (Fun fact: Rice isn’t just food here—it’s practically sacred.)We arrived early—like, before the crowds even thought about waking up—which meant we had the whole place (and the Insta-famous swings) to ourselves. I even flew my drone for some epic aerial shots, and Hendra, being the legend that he is, helped me take off and land safely while also making sure I didn’t accidentally break any local rules. Obstacle detection ON, slow movements only, and, again, don’t be that person.Stop 4: Mount Batur Viewpoint – Lunch with a Side of CloudsNext up: Mount Batur viewpoint, where we got to enjoy one of the most breathtaking sights in Bali. The drive up was a trip in itself—Hendra kept us entertained with stories about volcanoes, local traditions, and life in the villages surrounding the mountain.By the time we reached the top, we were literally in the clouds. Unfortunately, heavy rain meant no drone action for me, but I’d imagine this place would be a dream to fly in clear weather. Pro tip: Bring a raincoat unless you want to be one with the mist.Of course, no adventure is complete without food, and lunch here did not disappoint. Hendra hooked us up with some must-try Balinese dishes—crispy duck, nasi goreng, and all the tropical fruit you could dream of. Good food, insane views, and great company? Chef’s kiss.Stop 5: Batur Natural Hot Spring – Ultimate Relaxation ModeAfter a day of hiking, climbing, and waterfall-jumping, our final stop was the Batur Natural Hot Spring—a perfect way to unwind. Nestled by the lake, the hot springs were warm, soothing, and surrounded by some seriously stunning views of Mount Batur.And the best part? Drone-friendly. Unlike the waterfall, this place has a ton of open space, making it an easy spot to fly. Just be mindful of other visitors—you don’t want to be the reason someone’s peaceful soak turns into a panic attack.Final Thoughts: Hendra = The GOATLet’s be real—Bali is already a dream destination, but what made this trip truly next-level was Hendra.
